Every day I hear the voice,
I hear the voice in my head,
every day a little less.
So bit by bit ideology
is replaced with resignation.

I surrendered to the soothing pull of the masses.
Instead of being true to my view
I gave in and sold myself.
My sharp tongue, once distinctive,
is at a loss for words.
Keeping quiet instead of speaking really hurts.
I shut my eyes cause it's easier
to put my mind at ease where no one sees.
I will admit I'm a hypocrite.
For too long I observed
getting estranged from myself.
It's time to change like this.
Now it's time to say what I mean
and mean what I say.
My eyes have been blinded
by the deceptive adamant world today.
Far too long I was wandering
on abstruse tortuous roads.
I was wrong, always pondering,
shouldering more loads.
It's time to leave this maze behind!
